Puppy Love: What I Wore

Today was a rather hectic day. For starters, I was an hour and a half late to work. Why is a long and pretty boring story, but I called another attorney in my office and asked her to spread the word in the courthouse. Unfortunately, while the whole courthouse knew what was going on, the courtroom was not in the loop leading to what I understand was a rather funny exchange when the clerk called my office with the judge on the bench to inquire as to my whereabouts. Stories are conflicting but my secretary may or may not have said, "Well, she doesn't have court listed in our book and if she doesn't have court, she's always late."

Ouch.

Luckily, the judge had a sense of humor about the whole thing and once I appeared and apologized profusely, all was forgiven. Although I did have to wait around all day for my hearing, which didn't start until 2pm and lasted through the afternoon.

Unfortunately, my outfit pictures are loaded on my work computer and have been deleted from my iPhone. This is particularly upsetting because I'm looking rather adorable today. You'll just have to take my word for it and tomorrow I'll post today and tomorrow's outfits!

Abbie, our resident birthday girl, heard about the pickle I was in and volunteered to model what she wore today. Well, it's actually what she wore yesterday in honor of her birthday.
Okay, seriously, Abbie has never been these photogenic or this photo-cooperative. She sat there for like five minutes while I was trying to take a picture of her shirt and then at the last minute looked over her shoulder at the camera. I was in disbelief! This is a dog who for the last four years that we've owned her has eluded the camera or alternatively had creepy blue demon eyes in every single photo attempt.

I went to pick Abbie's cake up yesterday afternoon and saw this shirt. I had no choice but to buy it. It says Princess on it! With sparkles! And it's pink! Seriously, if it hadn't have been in dog sizes, I'd be wearing this shirt right now too! The dog bakery had the option of carob or peanut butter cake. Then the lady asked, "sprinkles or drizzle" to which I responded, "Really? It's for a dog." She was not amused and waited for my choice, "Um sprinkles" - Izzy had sprinkles on her birthday so that's what Abbie gets. We didn't give them the whole cake last night and we make them share it anyway. They both had a big piece and there's enough left for the next two or three nights. All in all, I think Abbie had a rather nice birthday celebration!

So I'll be back tomorrow with a Queen Song of the Day (which I've yet to write. Oooh I've been such a bad blogger recently) and then two days worth of outfit posts! I promise!

Happy Thursday!

  1. Oh my! That doggie cake look so delish...even I want to take a bite out of it. Want to know how prissy my dog is? My friend's dog had a bday party and there was also a cake like this. They sliced it up and each doggie of course grabbed their own and went to town on their own piece. I set Chewy's on the ground and he looks at me with these puppy eyes. He won't eat it! I then put it on a plate and he ate it. Ugh! Such a prissy dog.

  2. That's so cute that you've a bday cake for your puppy! I didn't even know there are cakes for dogs. Perhaps that's not surprising since I don't have a dog heh.

  4. Cindi - That is too funny about your dog! Izzy is a little finicky too - I was in Florida once with friends and she was so upset that I was gone that she physically made herself sick! I came home and she was miraculously cured! LOL

Sydney - Yup, they have dog cakes! I made the mistake of licking my finger once after cutting one - BLAH! They are cakes in name only, trust me!

Mom - Aw doesn't she? I was so shocked that she posed for me! Such a good girl!
